West Head 3-in-1: Caves, Coast & Secret Bays (Half Day)

This is a "shuttle-powered" tasting menu of West Head’s best bits. We’ll use the Seek Sista van to hop between trailheads, allowing us to explore 6.8km of premium tracks—including ancient stencils, secret beaches and waterfalls—without any boring road walking in between.

🫶 Why You’ll Love This Hike

This morning is all about "quality over quantity." By hopping in and out of the Seek Sista shuttle, we skip the road sections and go straight to the heart of three different trails. We’ll start at Red Hands Cave to ground ourselves with ancient history, then follow the Resolute Track out to the famous West Head Lookout. Back at the van, we’ll zip over to the Flint and Steel trailhead for a descent to a secluded beach. Finally, we’ll drive to the America Bay track to admire ancient rock engravings and enjoy our morning tea by the waterfall ledge. While the shuttle handles the road, your legs will still get a great workout on the steep climbs back up from the water—making this 6.8km journey feel like a true 10km accomplishment!

👣 Track Grade Breakdown

Grade 3 (Moderate/Challenging):

The Climb: We are "hopping" between three distinct tracks. While the shuttle saves us from road walking, the tracks themselves involve significant sandstone steps.

Elevation: Expect two steep, heart-pumping climbs back up to the trailheads from the beach and bay areas.

Terrain: Well-defined bush tracks with some uneven natural surfaces and sandy patches at the shoreline.

Fitness Requirements: A moderate level of fitness is recommended. You should be comfortable with steep inclines and stairs.

🚗 Getting there

For a comfortable return trip in the Seek Sista Shuttle Van, there are 3 pickup points to choose from. Exact locations will be texted upon booking:

• Pick-up Point 1 – St Ives

• Pick-up Point 2 – Gordon Station

• Pick-up Point 3 – Terrey Hills

• Driving Yourself? Meet us at the Resolute Picnic Area. Note: A $12 National Park vehicle entry fee applies. Exact location will be texted upon booking.

🎒 What to Bring

• 1.5–2L of water

• Hiking shoes with good grip

• Lightweight clothing layers

• Hiking poles (recommended)

• Hat and sunscreen

• A small daypack for your essentials

• A mug for your cup of coffee or tea

📑 Minimum Group Size & Cancellation Policy

Minimum group: 3 participants. If not met, Seek Sista will contact you 48 hours prior for a refund or transfer. Cancellations: Full refund if you cancel at least 72 hours before the experience. Within 72 hours, spots are non-refundable but transferable to a friend.

Event postponement: If cancelled by Seek Sista due to weather or safety, you’ll receive a full refund or transfer.
