A space for connection, movement & joy

Seek Sista was created recently by Kirsty Curnow as a heartfelt invitation for women in NSW & ACT to reconnect with themselves, with nature, and with each other. At 51, Kirsty found herself longing to rediscover who she was before motherhood took centre stage. After years of raising two children while juggling roles as a freelance designer, sports coach, and outdoor guide, she began seeking her own rhythm again — one grounded in creativity, movement and connection.

Seek Sista became a space where women can gather, breathe, explore, and simply be — especially during life’s in-between chapters. With family scattered far away and her husband focussed on his career, Kirsty found refuge and freedom in nature. Blending her passions for design, coaching, and guiding, she shaped Seek Sista into a social enterprise that puts women and connection at its heart.

Members don’t need to be fit, adventurous or fully kitted-out. Seek Sista breaks down barriers with free and low-cost options, helping women enjoy the benefits of nature and movement without pressure. We reinvest what we earn into creating fun experiences and highlighting the local outdoor providers who make them possible — so that together, we create meaningful impact.

Kirsty has built a welcoming space free of expectations — offering gentle invitations for women to reconnect, move and remember who they are beneath it all.

Some activities may involve male instructors or take place in public or mixed-gender settings, yet the focus always remains on women coming together in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Our Vision

A future where all women feel confident and supported to enjoy the outdoors, finding joy, calm, and connection in nature and in quiet moments.

Our Mission

To inspire and support women to enjoy being active outdoors, using movement and nature to recharge, reconnect, and bring balance to their lives.

Values

Real experiences

Helping women feel safe and supported as they try something new and enjoy time outside in a way that feels good for them.

Community

Creating space for connection, friendship and shared stories through small-group experiences and relaxed catch-ups.

Movement & Energy

Encouraging women to move in ways that feel nourishing and joyful, not punishing or performative.

Inclusion & access

Removing barriers so that nature feels open to all women, regardless of fitness, confidence or budget.

Joy

Leaning into lightness and play, and remembering that getting outside can be uplifting, not overwhelming.

Our Commitment to Sustainablity

We believe that spending time outdoors is not only good for us, but also a reminder of how important it is to protect the places we gather in. We’re not perfect, but we’re doing our part to tread lightly and make thoughtful choices along the way.

Here’s how we’re working towards a more sustainable future:

  • Small group sizes – Keeping our groups small reduces our impact on trails, wildlife and local communities.

  • Shared transport – Wherever possible, we encourage carpooling or use our van to cut down on multiple cars heading to the same spot.

  • Minimal waste & recycling – We aim for reusable where we can such as water bottles and coffee cups so there’s less rubbish to deal with. And we carry a soft plastic compactor to recycle soft plastics more easily.

  • Local partnerships – We collaborate with local businesses and guides to support community-based tourism.

  • Continuous learning – We’re always open to new ideas that help us do better, from trail practices to event planning.

This is just the beginning. As we grow, we’ll continue to look for ways to balance creating meaningful outdoor experiences with looking after the environment we all love.

Giving Back Initiative

Seek Sista supports women as they embrace adventure, personal growth and a deeper connection with nature. Through our Giving Back initiative, we proudly support two incredible programs by Outward Bound Australia that encourage women to step outside their comfort zones and discover their inner strength.

The Women of Courage program is designed for women who have moved through their own healing journeys and are ready to take on new challenges. Guided by compassionate female leaders, these women are encouraged to grow, explore and thrive in the outdoors.

The Gutsy Girls Adventure takes women on an unforgettable 10-day journey through some of Australia’s most stunning coastal wilderness. This transformative experience is all about adventure, self-discovery and building meaningful connections with like-minded women. It’s one of the most inspiring, challenging and rewarding expeditions.

If you’re interested in personally supporting women to come on these programs, you can donate to Outward Bound here.
