Safety & Wellbeing Guidelines
Feeling safe, supported and comfortable outdoors sits at the heart of every Seek Sista experience. From relaxed community walks to longer hikes, every outing is shaped by care, clarity and confidence.
Everything you need to know is gathered here so women can understand what to expect and step outside feeling prepared.
Our Approach to Safety
Every activity is designed to be inclusive, well-planned and centred around wellbeing. Routes are chosen with weather, trail conditions, ability levels and overall comfort in mind. The aim is never to rush but to enjoy the time outside and look after one another.
Weather & Heat Policy
Outdoor activities are guided by a clear approach to heat and humidity so everyone stays safe and comfortable.
Temperature Guidelines
-
Activities usually continue up to 28°C.
-
Between 28–30°C, the route, timing or distance may be adjusted.
-
At 30°C or above, plans may be postponed or cancelled.
The ‘feels like’ temperature is also taken into account when reviewing heat conditions.
Humidity Guidelines
-
Humidity is reviewed alongside temperature, as high humidity increases heat stress.
-
Around 70% humidity or higher, extra caution is taken and activities may be modified.
Updates are sent early if conditions look unsafe.
Cold, Windy & Wet Weather Considerations
Small groups keep the experience personal and supportive.
-
Maximum of 6 participants
-
Aim for a minimum of 3 to maintain a safe, balanced group dynamic
Trail Choice & Risk Awareness
Routes are selected to avoid areas with:
-
extreme exposure to heat
-
unstable or hazardous ground
-
unmarked or risky sections
-
known closures or alerts
If conditions change, a safer alternative may be used.
Cold, Windy & Wet Weather Considerations
Cooler conditions can be beautiful, but safety and comfort still guide every plan. Weather is reviewed closely, especially when strong winds, heavy rain or very low temperatures are forecast.
Activities may be adjusted or postponed if:
-
the temperature drops to a level where being outdoors for long periods becomes uncomfortable
-
strong winds make certain trails unsafe
-
heavy rain creates slippery, unstable or flooded tracks
-
storms are expected
Participants are encouraged to bring layers, a waterproof jacket and cold-weather essentials listed in the event notes so the experience stays warm, dry and enjoyable.
Fitness Expectations
Each walk or hike has its own rhythm, and women are encouraged to join the option that feels right for their current ability.
Community Walks
A relaxed, social pace. Participants need to comfortably walk 5–8 km while still being able to chat without feeling breathless.
Saturday Hikes
A quicker pace suited to those with moderate fitness.
Sunday Hikes
A steady, unhurried pace where up to 10 km is covered, usually taking up to four hours. There’s plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings, and the duration can shift a little depending on the group’s comfort and walking speed.

no one is left guessing or without information.
