👣 Track Grade Breakdown
Causeway to Red Hands Cave (Outward Trail): Grade 3 – Moderate walk along a well-formed track with some uneven and rocky surfaces. Suitable for regular walkers.
Return via Red Hands Fire Trail: Grade 4 – Gradual uphill climb on a wide trail. Some exposed sections; steady pace and moderate fitness recommended.
🥾 Activity Level
Beginner to Intermediate
This 8 km return walk to Red Hands Cave is a step up from a short beginner stroll, suited to Sistas who feel ready for a little more time on the trail while still enjoying a supportive and relaxed pace. The track follows a mix of wide fire trail and narrower bush track, with sections that can be rocky or uneven underfoot. There are also sandstone steps along the way, and while there are no major climbs, you can expect a few steady inclines that require a basic level of fitness. Comfortable hiking shoes are recommended, and some walkers may find hiking poles helpful, particularly on the steps and uneven sections. We’ll move at a relaxed pace with time to pause, enjoy the bushland and take in the remarkable Aboriginal hand stencils at the cave.
