Angophora Reserve & Avalon Coastal Hike

We’re combining two local gems for one beautiful morning out — starting with a bushland wander through Palmgrove Park and Angophora Reserve, then heading straight into the fresh sea air on the Avalon Coastal Walk. This combo walk blends rainforest, sandstone outcrops, clifftop lookouts, and local history, all in one go.

🌿 Why You’ll Love This Hike

We start under a lush rainforest canopy in Palmgrove Park, following winding paths up into Angophora Reserve, home to soaring gums, natural rock platforms and birdlife galore. Then we head east through Avalon to the coast, following the Bangalley Headland track for sweeping sea views, coastal flora, and a deep breath of wild air. It’s a walk of contrasts: bushland stillness followed by ocean energy.

Grade 3 – Mostly well-formed bush and coastal tracks with occasional uneven footing. Suitable for moderate fitness levels.

🚗 Getting There & Parking

Plenty of free parking is available on nearby residential streets near Avalon Public School. Public buses also run regularly to Barrenjoey Rd.
