About
Girl Guides offers girls aged 5 to 17 something unique: access to a great variety of activities throughout the year.
We help girls develop their skills in a safe environment while having fun and finding friends!
The focus of Girl Guides is to empower girls and young women to discover their potential as leaders of their world. Depending on the age of the girl there are a range of activities we do, but specifically - for teenage girls we are a Duke of Edinburgh Award provider and offer a range of hiking and canoe/kayak expedition trainings and trips each year.
Our focus over the summer of 2025 is Alpine expeditions, working to develop skills and interests to open up the outdoors to girls and young women and develop their confidence and leadership skills along the way. These hikes will be located across the Blue Mountains, Namadgi National Park and Snowy Mountains for our longer 4-6 day expeditions. They are predominantly led by our 'Olave' age group of women 18-30 years but we also have volunteers across a wide range of ages! The joy of Guiding is going out and finding other like- minded people, and developing that passion and curiosity for the outdoors in young people.
