🫶 Why You’ll Love This Hike

We begin our morning at the unique Sphinx Memorial, a soulful tribute carved in the 1920s that sets a contemplative tone for our journey. From here, we descend through the eucalypt forest, feeling the air cool as we reach the edge of Cowan Creek. We’ll follow the water’s edge along the Warrimoo Track, where the sound of the tide and the rustle of the mangroves create a natural rhythm for our conversation.

At Bobbin Head, we’ll take a moment to rest by the marina and enjoy a warm cuppa together before we begin our return journey. The Bobbin Head Trail offers a steady, grounding climb back up the ridge—a chance to find our stride and feel our strength—before we complete our loop back at the memorial. You’ll finish the morning feeling energised, connected, and deeply grounded in nature.

👣 Track Grade Breakdown

This is a Grade 3 to 4 hike requiring a good level of fitness and bushwalking experience.

• Sphinx to Warrimoo Track (Descent): A steady downhill on rocky, uneven surfaces with some stone steps and eroded sections.

• Warrimoo Track to Bobbin Head: Primarily Grade 3; a flatter path following the creek, though terrain remains uneven with some narrow sections.

• Bobbin Head Trail (Ascent): A long, gradual uphill "slog" on a wide fire trail. It is well-maintained but requires cardiovascular fitness as there is limited shade during the climb.
  

🚗 Getting there

For a comfortable return trip in the Seek Sista Shuttle Van, there are 2 pickup points to choose from. Exact locations will be texted upon booking:

• Pick-up Point 1 – St Ives

• Pick-up Point 2 – Gordon Station

Driving Yourself: If you prefer to drive, the exact meeting location will be texted upon booking. Please note that a $12 National Park vehicle entry fee applies for Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park if you do not have an annual pass.

🎒 What to Bring

• 1.5–2L of water

• Hiking shoes with good grip

• Lightweight warm clothing layers

• Hiking poles (recommended for the descent/ascent)

• A small daypack for your essentials

• A mug for your cup of coffee or tea

📑 Minimum Group Size & Cancellation Policy

• Minimum group: The event will proceed with a minimum of 3 participants. If the minimum is not met, Seek Sista will contact you at least 48 hours before the event to offer a full refund or transfer to another date.

• Cancellations: You’ll receive a full refund if you cancel at least 72 hours before the experience. Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to transfer your spot to a friend.

• Event postponement: If the event is cancelled by Seek Sista due to weather, track conditions, or safety concerns, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a new date.
